Apple News Launches Live Activities Feature, See US Election Results Directly On IPhone

JAKARTA - Apple News is now presenting Live Activities features on the iPhone and Apple Watch to directly monitor the results of the 2024 US elections. This feature allows users to monitor the development of vote calculations in real-time directly on the lock screen, as well as through Dynamic Island on the iPhone and widget views on the Apple Watch.

The Live Activities feature was first introduced by Apple to provide up-to-date information that appears interactively, such as music updates, sports scores, and active calls. This time, Apple News uses it to present election results, which of course can add to the tension for many users.

Starting Tuesday night November 5 at 18.00 EST, users can activate this feature from Apple News to monitor the results of the 2024 US elections. On the key screen, users will see interactive widgets that provide quick access to the latest election results reports.

Meanwhile, Dynamic Island displays the electoral votes of each candidate directly. If users feel bored with this update, they can shift Dynamic Island to reduce the display without completely closing their immediate activities.

This feature is available for iPhone and iPad key screens, but only devices with Dynamic Island will get this particular look. Apple Watch also supports this feature through an interactive widget display.

Previously, Apple News also implemented Live Activities for causal results earlier this year, and was considered an efficient way to quickly monitor political events. Although the final election results will not be determined until December 11, this feature is a useful tool to look at the latest developments while avoiding news coverage that may provoke emotions.

The launch also serves as a test for the resilience of the Live Activities feature, given the possibility that this feature will be active for hours until the election results are officially announced.
