JAKARTA Amazon Prime Video introduces a new feature that can create text summarys of a film or serial episode. This feature with Artificial Intelligence (AI) personnel is named X-Ray Recaps.

When Prime Video users stop watching in the middle of a film or series and want to resume the show again in the future, they no longer need to repeat the video from scratch. To shorten the time, they can use the X-Ray Recaps feature.

"With the creation of X-Ray Recaps, we directly address common issues that customers face when streaming content: forgetting where they stop," said Prime Video Product Vice President Adam Gray.

Adam added that this AI-based summary feature will provide a summary of important moments in the parts that users have watched. These various moments will be described in the form of points with sequential flow.

X-Ray Recaps works by analyzing various video segments combined with user subtitles and dialogue. Thanks to Amazon Bedrock, one of the services from AWS, X-Ray Recaps can describe events, venues, times, and conversations in detail.

To use this feature, users can select the feature through the Prime Video detailed page. If the user wants to access it via the video playback page, this capability will be available in the X-Ray list of capabilities.

For now, X-Ray Recaps can only be accessed by testers inside the beta version. Amazon has not explained when this feature will be released in a stable version and which countries will get this AI-powered feature.
