Menkomdigi Invites Religious Leaders To Realize The Positive Internet And Child Friendly

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid invites all religious leaders in East Nusa Tenggara to work together in creating child-friendly internet use.

According to him, apart from the relevant Ministries, namely the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, inviting children to use the internet to do positive things is also a shared homework.

Meutya revealed that the development of internet infrastructure that has been pursued by the government requires the participation of the community, especially parents and religious leaders so that the facilities provided can be used wisely

"The role of pastors, especially as educators, in realizing healthy internet is important. Do not let us in the Ministry throw away infrastructure, but our children use it for things that are not good," said Meutya as quoted by the Ministry of Communication and Industry's YouTube.

The Minister of Trade understands that this effort may not be a light task and involves the use of large state funds, so the use of the internet must be directed at utilization that supports justice and connectivity throughout the region.

"We really hope for the priests, then the mothers who are present to represent the churches in NTT, please convey that we use this (internet) for the best of our benefits," he continued.

Making a working visit (kunker) to NTT is Meutya's promise to ensure equal access to the internet throughout Indonesia.

In addition, Meutya has also revealed her focus on accepting her new position as Minister of Trade, to eradicate online gambling, improve digital security, and fix digital spaces.
