JAKARTA - Creators on the Threads platform revealed that even though they can make money in the application, no one really understands how this monetization system works. Even those who managed to make thousands of dollars per month admitted that they were confused by the process.

A special invitation program to monetize content was introduced by Meta in April, but details about how it works are very limited. Invited creators, including those who have a lot of followers on Instagram, don't know how or why they were chosen.

A photographer who earns $500 (IDR 7.6 million) per month shares that his strategy focuses on replying to other user posts, not creating his own content. In this way, he can reach 60 posts each of which gets at least 750 views, which qualify for a monthly bonus.

However, a painter who is at the $5.000 bonus level admits that it is difficult to find a consistent pattern in which video will work. Other creators are also frustrated that low or controversial content is often more valued by algorithms, while higher-quality content is ignored.

Meta claims it is trying to reduce the effectiveness of clickbait and spam in its recommendation algorithm, but many creators still feel confused and unsure about how to consistently profit on this platform.
