Threads Launch Activity Status Features, Can See When Users Are Online

JAKARTA - Meta is rolling out a new feature that will show the user's online activity status in Threads. That way, you'll be able to find out if the person is online or offline on Threads.

"We're rolling out activity status as a way to help you find other people to engage with in real-time," Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri said in a recent post on Threads.

Similar to the features on Facebook or Instagram, this feature will feature green bubbles next to someone's profile photo while they are online.

However, Meta gives users control over their activity status. That is, you can enable or turn off this feature in the settings whenever you want.

However, if you turn off the status feature of this activity, then you will not be able to see the online status of other users. Vice versa.

Only people who have the activity status that is turned on will be able to see when you are online, and you can turn it off in your settings at any time. We hope to know when your people are online making it easier for conversations," Mosseri concluded.

Not long ago, Threads was also working on a new feature similar to that of platform X. Called Community, this feature can group users based on topics and interests.

However, quoted from TechCrunch, the platform synchronized with Threads said that features seen with the 'Loop' code were still in the early development stage. This feature has not been tested internally or externally.

There is no certainty when the Threads community feature will be rolled out widely to users. So, let's wait for further information in the future.
