Google Asks US Judge's Decision Regarding App Stores To Be Postponed

JAKARTA Google, which does not accept the jury's decision in the antitrust case, and asked California federal judges to temporarily suspend court decisions regarding changes to the Play Store.

According to Google, reported by Reuters, this decision needs to be postponed until their appeal is complete. Therefore, Google submitted a letter of application to the court for US District Judge James Donato to postpone the order he issued.

Some time ago, Donato decided that Google could not prohibit the use of payment methods within the application. Google should also allow Play Store users to download third-party Android app platforms or stores.

In addition, Google is prohibited from making payments to device manufacturers before its app stores are installed. Device manufacturers in the US must first earn revenue from the Play Store before sharing their earnings.

This decision must be obeyed starting November 1st. However, Google feels that this decision is unfair and detrimental to the company. For the tech giant, Donato's decision poses serious dangers such as security and privacy risks in the Android ecosystem.

If Google's request regarding the postponement of Donato's decision is rejected, the company could submit a request to a higher court, namely the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeal. For now, Google wants to focus on winning the appeal.

The company filed an appeal to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals on October 8. Google hopes that the high court can consider the risks of Donato's decision. If the appeal is accepted, the Android ecosystem will remain the same as before.
