General Motors Releases An Electric Version Of The Hummer, It Costs IDR 1.54 Billion, Are You Interested?

JAKARTA - The well-known car manufacturer from the United States (US), General Motors (GM) has just launched an electric version of the Hummer. The latest Hummer car sells for USD 110.000, or approximately IDR 1.54 billion (exchange rate IDR 14.500).

It is planned that GM will sell the latest Hummer electric car to the public in 2023. This Hummer electric vehicle will be a mainstay of GM which will go on sale in the fall.

"The GMC Hummer EV is expected to be the most powerful and attractive electric super truck ever", said GMC Global Vice President, Duncan Aldred in his official statement.

This Hummer EV has 11.500 foot-pounds eye-popping torque like a pickup. This Hummer EV electric car is claimed to be able to reach 250 miles to 300 miles according to each model.

“0 to 60 mph as fast as about 3.5 seconds. This (car) has 830 horsepower", said Aldred.

General Motors said that they will produce the Hummer EV model at the highest price in 2023, then follow the production of the low-cost Hummer EV in 2024.

Hummer electric car is planned to be made at the assembly plant located in Detroit. The Hummer EV is an evolution from the previous Hummer, which was discontinued by the company in 2010.

The decision to present the Hummer in an electric vehicle (EV) version was made after GM president Mark Reus discussed with GM CEO Mary Barra in 2019. At that time, other high-ranking company officials were also present.

The discussion discussed some of their efforts to bring Hummer back by targeting the current generation of consumers.

"We just want to do it. We saw an opportunity for trucks. We've always wanted to do this with Hummer, but it has a lot of baggage from a user point of view, so we changed that", said Aldred.
