JAKARTA Google added a new capability to the Gemini app for Android devices. Previously, users could only enter images from within the app, but now their capabilities have been improved.

Based on Android Authority findings, Gemini version 1,06848831 can receive images from other applications. Users can share images on Google or even websites. This new feature makes it easier for users to ask questions.

This sharing ability will be visible when the user clicks on the sharing button in the app they want. For example, when the user wants to share an image from the web page, they just need to press the image and select the share option.

Usually, some recommendation applications will appear at the bottom and the Gemini app icon will be included. This ability is created specifically for images. If the user wants to ask about text from other apps, there is no option to share text.

This image sharing ability will not include an overlay. This means that the Gemini app pop-up will not appear above the application or interface that is currently opening. When clicking the Gemini icon, users will be directed to the chatbot application.

Shared images will appear in small displays and users can include the desired command or query. This new capability makes it easier for users because they don't need to download images that eat up storage memory.

This capability began rolling out on October 2 to all Android devices. It seems that this image sharing feature is still rolling out in stages. It is not yet known whether Google will simplify image access to Gemini chatbots on iOS.
