These Are The Five Expected Changes To Apple's New Mac M4 Next Month

JAKARTA Apple is expected to begin introducing their Mac M4 lineup in October, with updates on the iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac mini that will be the beginning of the transition to the M4 chip. Although launch events are likely to be held in October, this new device may just be delivered in November.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is likely to start shipping Mac M4 with at least 16GB RAM, including on the basic models of the MacBook Pro 14, the new Mac mini, and the new iMac. Over the past eight years, Apple has used 8GB RAM on its Mac-basic model, so this upgrade will be a turnaround, especially given the intensifying use of memory with artificial intelligence technology.

Recent reports suggest that the upcoming Mac mini will undergo the biggest design change in the computer's 14-year history. The new model is expected to be smaller in size and will most likely lose support for USB-A ports, although it will add to its USB-C port as a replacement. Although details of the design are not widely known, this change will be interesting considering Mac mini is Apple's cheapest Mac.

Rumors show there will be a new iMac this fall, which opens up opportunities for Apple to refresh all of their Magic accessories. Given that Apple must comply with the EU's mandate to use USB-C before the end of this year, we will most likely say goodbye to the lighting port on Apple's desktop accessories with the presence of an iMac M4 refresher.

Currently, Space Black colors are exclusive to high-end MacBook Pro M3 Pro and M3 Max, and are not available on the basic model MacBook Pro M3 which still uses Space Gray. While this may seem like a deliberate option, there is speculation that Apple could bring Space Black color to the cheapest MacBook Pro M4 to come.

New M4 Pro and M4 Max chips Although Apple launched the M4 base chip on the iPad Pro in May, the public still hasn't seen the high-end, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips yet. These chips are expected to launch for the first time on the new high-end MacBook Pro later this year. The M4 Pro and Max chips are expected to use TSMC's more efficient 3nm process, which is also used by the A18 and M4 chips, and as usual, will offer a faster performance.

With some of these major changes, Apple's launch of Mac M4 will certainly be a highly anticipated moment.
