JAKARTA Capella Space, a space technology company from America, received a contract for AFWERX Ventures Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) from the US Air Force worth US$15 million or around Rp230 billion.

This contract was only received on Monday, September 16. Through this contract, Capella Space will develop the world's leading Synthetic Radar Apertur (SAR) technology. The company will also scale up and expand the satellite technology.

"As America's first commercial SAR image provider, we are excited to continue developing our leading technology to support the US Air Force and its partners," Capella Space CEO Frank Brackes said.

Brackes believes that the STRATFI contract can accelerate the roadmap of Capella Space's innovation. Thus, the company can develop and implement next-generation SAR sensors, which of course are equipped with advanced features.

The sensors Capella Space developed recently are claimed to provide better resolution and are equipped with key features commonly requested by SAR users. Some of the features in it are double polarization operations and low latency delivery thanks to the improved downlink of data.

Not long ago, Capella Space launched a radar imaging satellite using Rocket Lab flight services. This satellite named Capella-13 took off from the 1 Rocket Lab Launch Complex with the Electron rocket.

Capella-13 is claimed to have better SAR imaging capabilities than several previous satellites. With the launch of this satellite last August, Capella Space wants to strengthen its constellation to present the best SAR satellite solution.
