JAKARTA Ask Photos, a Gemini-backed feature, has been introduced since last May. Initially, this feature was only available to Google Labs users in the US, but now its features are being tested for Google Photos users.
Initial access to this feature opened on Thursday, September 5 for Google Photos users on Android and iOS devices. Currently, the AI feature is only available in English. Google will add more languages in the coming weeks.
"Along with the increasing number of photo libraries, finding what you're looking for sometimes requires a more descriptive query. Starting today, you can find what you're looking for using everyday language," Google said in its official statement.
The Ask Photos feature supports a faster search with daily language queries. When entering search queries like me and the cat are playing, Google Photos will reduce the appearance of photos according to the desired query.

This ability to introduce this photo can be presented thanks to Gemini. This big language model can understand the context of a collection of photos stored in Google Photos, ranging from users, other people, hobbies that users like, favorite foods, and others.
For now, the initial access to the Ask Photos feature has just opened for selected US users who are part of Google Labs. After that, go to the Google Photos website to request initial access to the AI feature and enter the waiting list.
"We are excited to see how you use Ask Photos, and want to improve and expand its capabilities," said Google. "We make sure that we got this experience right before launching it widely."
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
