Closing a series of events on Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase's recent live broadcast, Sega announced that the Yakuza Kiwami game will be released for the Nintendo Switch this October.

The Yakuza waralaba is on the rise. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and the sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon which was released in 2020 was a hit title in its time.

"Back to where it all started. The story of an adventure in the game that received praise from critics who started the iconic Yakuza series is now present," the developer wrote in his announcement.

As a remake of the original game in the series released in 2005, Yakuza Kiwami should be a solid entry point into the series for newcomers on the Switch.

In this game, you will be presented with experience in a realistic modern Japanese entertainment district called Kamurocho, and you are forced to fight on the streets with various fighting styles, emergency weapons, and an extraordinary final movement.

Yakuza Kiwami launched for the Switch on October 24. Currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. There are no further details yet whether other Yakuza games will be rolled out to the Switch or not.
