JAKARTA - Motorola seems to be preparing for the launch of their newest smartphone which is most likely the Moto Edge 50 Neo. This information comes after Motorola posted a teaser video on platform X, which shows a number of Pantone colors as well as Lytia image sensors. Although Motorola did not explicitly reveal the name of the device, many have speculated that this is the successor to Neo's Edge 40 series.

The teaser video highlights two main elements: Lytia and Pantone. Pantone is a company Motorola often uses for color choices on some of their devices, including Razr Plus and Edge 40 Neo. The teaser shows two colors that will most likely be available on this new device, namely Peach Fuzz and Latte. While "Lytia" refers to the image sensor to be used on this device.

According to a report released by YTECHB and quoted by 91Mobiles, this device is suspected to be the Moto Edge 50 Neo. Based on a leak from a listing in Ukraine, this smartphone is expected to come with a 6.4-inch POLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate. On the inside, this device is likely to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset and run the Android 14 operating system.

In addition, other specifications leaked including a 50MP main lens, 13MP ultrawide lens, and 10MP telephoto lens, which makes this device a triple camera configuration. Information from other listings found in Hungary also states that the Moto Edge 50 Neo will be available in four color variants, namely Nautical Blue, Latte, Poinciana, and Grisaille.

If this speculation is true, Moto Edge 50 Neo will bring some significant improvement over its predecessor, especially in terms of photography capabilities. The Edge 40 Neo Moto released last year has only two camera lenses on the back, while Edge 50 Neo is thought to have three lenses with an additional telephoto lens.

In addition to the upgrade to the camera, the Moto Edge 50 Neo screen is reportedly slightly smaller than its predecessor, with a size of 6.4 inches compared to the 6.5 inches on the Edge 40 Neo. Even so, the screen still offers POLED quality with a 120Hz refresh rate that promises a smooth visual experience.

The official launch of this device is scheduled for August 29, which is slightly earlier than the Edge 40 Neo launch in mid-September last year. Motorola itself has not confirmed the name of this device, but all signs lead to the Moto Edge 50 Neo as the device to be launched soon.

Motorola has previously launched another mid-range device earlier this year, namely the Edge 50 Pro, which has a 4.500mAh battery and a 6.7-inch screen. The device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The planned launch of Edge 50 Neo at the end of this month shows that Motorola continues to strengthen their mid-range line, providing smartphone options with attractive specifications for users in this segment. We'll just have to wait for the official announcement from Motorola on August 29.
