SpaceX Ready To Launch Dawn Polaris Program On August 26

JAKARTA The Polaris Dawn program will mark a new milestone. After two years of preparation, the private astronaut's flight mission initiated by Jared Isaacman will be launched on August 26. Polaris Dawn will carry four crews, namely Isaacman as Mission Commander, Scott Poteet as Mission Pilot, and Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon as Mission Specialist. All four crews will fly into orbit using Dragon spacecraft. The aircraft will launch with a Falcon 9 rocket from SpaceX. There is no information yet about the clock and launch location of this program. The Polaris Dawn team explains that, "An additional details will be revealed before, during, and after the mission." Isaacman said that the entire flight crew is ready to begin the Polaris Dawn mission. They have undergone centrifuge operations, hundreds of hours of simulations in Dragon, umbrellas, survival training, medical training, and much more for more than two years. After more than two years of training, we are excited to start this mission, Isaacman said. We are very grateful for this opportunity and for thousands of SpaceX technicians who have contributed to this endeavor."

The four Polaris Dawn crew will be in Earth's orbit for five days to carry out various tests, ranging from spacesuit testing for the next generation and hitting a record recent altitude since the Apollo mission. Isaacman and the other three crew members will also test laser-based satellite communications using optical links between Dragon aircraft and Starlink satellites to create new communications. They will also perform nearly 40 experiments related to human health. "The result of our mission will accelerate SpaceX's vision of realizing multiplanetary life and support St. Children's Research Hospital. Jude as well as his efforts to improve global survival rates for child cancer and other life-threatening diseases," Isaacman explained.
