Spending IDR 144 Trillion, Microsoft Wants To Buy Discord Application

JAKARTA - Microsoft reportedly wants to acquire the audio chat game platform, Discord. Even Microsoft has prepared a dowry worth more than USD 10 billion, or approximately IDR 144 trillion.

According to Bloomberg report, Microsoft has discussed the acquisition process with Discord. Discord reportedly has also accepted the proposal.

Also mentioned, The Chief of Microsoft Xbox, Phil Spencer has communicated with Discord to discuss this acquisition process further. However, Discord has yet to respond to news of the acquisition.

Microsoft isn't the only enthusiast, but there are several potential buyers who have expressed a desire to buy Discord. There were Epic Games and Amazon which reportedly wanted to acquire the Discord service.

Of course, Microsoft's plan is in line with the growing gaming industry. Moreover, voice chat applications such as Discord can be integrated with Microsoft gaming services.

Please note that Discord is a free voice chat application that gamers can use to discuss or chat together, since its launch in 2015. Discord has grown very rapidly during the pandemic, this platform allows its users to chat with friends while playing games.

Discord is known to have more than 140 million active users each month. Because not a few video games have in-game voice chat but the quality is not good.
