Meta Is Testing Its Animated Emoji To WhatsApp Users On IOS

JAKARTA - Meta is reportedly testing its first animated emoji to WhatsApp users on iOS, after a month ago WhatsApp introduced its animated emoji in beta to Android users.

Found by 9to5google, the WhatsApp animated emoji for this iPhone is available via TestFlight. From the screenshots shared, for now, there are only a few animated emojis available, including wink, laughing face, and red heart.

In its news last month, WABetaInfo believes that WhatsApp has selected some of the most popular emojis to bring them to life first, and more will be added in the future.

Maybe nothing special when viewing the emoji directly from the iPhone keyboard, but if you send it to a conversation, WhatsApp will automatically display the animated version.

However, there are no details of when WhatsApp plans to introduce this update to the public. But for sure, Meta seems to want to compete with Telegram in the development of this animated emoji.

On the other hand, WhatsApp is also reportedly developing a new feature that allows users to share files without an internet connection, similar to Apple's AirDrop. This feature, which was first tested on Android, seems to be also available to iPhone users.
