Minister Of Communication And Information Says NVIDIA Boss Will Come To Indonesia In September, Discuss AI Investment?

JAKARTA - Continuing the discourse of NVIDIA investment in Indonesia, Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi said that the NVIDIA boss will be planned to be present in Indonesia in September.

"I have sent a letter, all (NVIDIA) are scheduled to come (to Indonesia) in September, discuss AI and maybe others," said Minister of Communication and Information Budi on Wednesday, July 31 at the DTI-CX event, JCC Senayan.

However, Budi has not been able to confirm the exact date when NVIDIA boss Jen-Hsun Huang will visit. To be sure, Budi emphasized that the presence of NVIDIA will grow the investment climate in the country.

"Just wait for the date. What is certain is that this will grow the investment climate and also how the digitalization process for Indonesia will accelerate," Budi continued to VOI.

The news of NVIDIA's investment was revealed by the Minister of Communication and Information in early April. At that time, Budi said that NVIDIA and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat) planned to invest USD 200 million (IDR 3 trillion) for the establishment of an AI center in Indonesia.

Budi also said that the Indonesia AI Nation would be built in Solo, precisely in Solo Technopark. Because according to him, Solo has readiness both in terms of human resources and existing infrastructure.

"Earlier, we talked about the President Director of Indosat and also Mas Gibran, we will try the execution," said Budi further. "Yes, we'll see (other than Solo), which area do you want? Bali, Bandung."
