JAKARTA YouTube redesigns miniplayer views when users play videos in the app. The display of this feature is enlarged and converted into Picture-in-Picture (PiP) with additional controls. Before updating, a miniplayer display will appear over a row of tabs when the user leaves the video playback page. The miniplayer will display a small video with title and channel captions that upload the video. The display of this feature is less attractive to look at as long as the user is looking for another video. Therefore, YouTube replaces the miniplayer with the PiP window. This window is more convenient to see as long as the user explores the YouTube app. Reporting from 9to5google, the PiP window will appear in rectangular form in the lower right corner of the screen. The video shown will not be truncated because YouTube includes a background in two colors, namely white and dark, depending on the theme of the video.

This limited color display can interfere with the appearance of the background video because it can stand out more than the video that plays. It is not yet known whether YouTube plans to add an ambient mode in the PiP window. Like a miniplayer, the PiP window will display the Play and Jeda button flanked by two new buttons, namely the 10-second Turnback button and the 10-second switch button. Interestingly, users can change the size and move the window. The PiP miniplayer is rolling out to the YouTube app for Android devices, but only for a small part of the user. Apparently, YouTube is still testing this feature before it is extended to more devices.
