JAKARTA Apart from being an entertainment platform, TikTok strives to be a creative space for music creators around the world. It is hoped that this platform can be used as a place to channel talent. To support this hope, TikTok is again holding a Gameme The Mic competition with the title Where LIVE Stars are Born. This national-scale talent search event will be held virtually through live streaming or live broadcast features. By holding this competition, TikTok wants to find new stars in the music industry. The MIC game will provide opportunities for music creators who want to start a career as professional musicians. Agna Pradisti Putri as Content, Event, Partnership and Product Operation Lead, TikTok LIVE Indonesia said that this competition was created because music creators often take advantage of live broadcast features to interact with audiences in real-time. "Seeing the huge potential of these creators, we are again presenting a 'Gimme The Mic' competition to pave the way for music creators and society to be able to have a professional career in the music industry," Agna said. Agna explained that this competition will last for almost two months, from July 15 to September 22. The MIC game will be divided into three rounds, namely registration, semi-finals, and grand finals. The last round will use multi-guest features.

Six finalists who successfully qualify will receive intensive training to show their talent at the 2024 The MIC Gamme concert which will be held on September 22. The four winners selected will receive cash prizes. In addition, these four winners will represent Indonesia in the global game The MIC competition and will compete with more than 30 other countries. During the competition, Budi Doremi, Raisa, and Eka Gustiwana will be present as judges. All TikTok users can take part in the audition process for The MIC 2024 Gamme for over 18 years of age. Users only need to upload a singing video on TikTok with a minimum duration of 30 seconds and include the hashtag #GimmeTheMic and #GimmeTheMic_Indonesia.
