JAKARTA - Meta announced a series of updates to the WhatsApp group chat feature designed to help users coordinate and make decisions faster.
The tech giant is introducing three new features that allow users to set voting time limits, hide voter identities, and edit poll questions.
The voting time limit is designed so that users can determine when the poll ends so that the automatic voting process is locked after the specified deadline.
The option to hide the voter's name is expected to help each group member to convey their preferences more comfortably without being known by other users in the group.
Meanwhile, poll questions can now be edited up to 15 minutes after they're created. This feature allows users to correct spelling errors or add clarifications without having to create a new poll.
Not only that, WhatsApp also presents a feature that allows users to create a new group chat with certain members from an old group, without having to add contacts one by one.
"This feature is suitable for planning a surprise party, coordinating event logistics, or discussing deeper topics without interrupting the main conversation," the company wrote in its official announcement.
