Android 15 Coming With New Features In Wizard Setup

JAKARTA - Android relies on the Wizard Setup to introduce the feature to users when setting up a new phone or tablet. Google is likely to add Quick Share, satellite message, and car crash detection to the Wizard Setup, making it part of the preparation process. This change is expected to be part of Android 15.

Recently, Google introduced a new flag on the Chrome OS codebase that powers Quick Share by default on Chromebooks. Now, the company seems to be working to make Quick Share a part of the Wizard Setup process on Android.

The APK'sEARdown helps predict features that may be present in future services based on code being worked on. However, it is possible that the predicted feature will not be released to the public. While investigating the Google Setup Wizard, researchers found that Quick Share is one of the steps in the preparation process. This option allows users to enable or disable the feature during preparation.

It's still unclear whether Quick Share will set visibility to your own device or to your contacts. However, Full Screen Wizard Setup provides all three options.

Adding Quick Share to the user's onboarding process will greatly improve the visibility of this feature among users. Most people don't realize that Android already has a AirDrop-like function and that it works well for supported use cases.

Quick Share isn't the only new feature added to the Wizard Setup. Satellite messages, car crash detection, and Moment will also be part of this process. However, all three features will only appear if you use Pixel devices.

This change to the Google Setup Wizard is not yet active. However, it is hoped that these features will be part of Android 15 when it is finally released.
