Google Launches Gemini Sidebar In Gmail, Can Make A Summary

JAKARTA At the end of last May, Google launched Gemini's cydebar into Gmail, specifically for Labs-listed Workspace users. Now, Gmail's platform is extended to all Workspace subscribers. Through the Workspace update page, Google says that Gemini's website has been rolled out. The company added the latest Gemini model, the 1.5 Pro, to support more sophisticated reasoning. With Gemini support, Gmail users can summarize emails, suggest responses for email entry, help formulate email, raise email-related questions, and find specific information in email or Google Drive. Google says that Gemini will offer a variety of proactive commands to help users. In addition to offering various commands, users can also, "submit free-formed questions (to be responded to by Gemini)." Google also launched Gemini on the Gmail mobile app for Android and iOS. Although the features are not as much as on the website, users can still ask Gemini for help to analyze the email series and see summary with the main highlights.

"It's useful when you're traveling, especially because reading a long suite of emails can take some time," Google said. In the near future, the Contextual Smart Reply feature and Tanya Answer Gmail will be added to mobile apps. Gemini's codebar or support on website Gmail and mobile apps will be available for Gemini Business and Company Users, Gemini Education Additional and Premium Education, as well as Google One AI Premium on Google Workspace services.
