JAKARTA - Apple Inc will delay the launch of three new artificial intelligence (AI) features due to EU technology rules requiring companies to ensure competing products and services can function with its devices. This was said by the US technology company on Friday, June 21.

Apple stressed its push on AI earlier this month with a set of new features and software upgrades for iPhones and other devices to increase sales of declining products.

It was previously said that Apple Intelligence, which uses AI to generate text, images, and other content according to orders, will be available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as the iPad and Mac with the M1 chip and the next version. The iPhone Mirroring on MacOS Sequoia allows the phone screen to be viewed and interconnected on Mac computers.

The company said on Friday that three features - Phone Mirroring, SharePlay Screen Sharing obstacles, and Apple Intelligence - will not be rolled out to users in the European Union this year due to regulatory uncertainty due to the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA).

"We are in particular concerned that the interoperability requirements of the DMA could force us to compromise the integrity of our products in a manner that poses a risk to the privacy and security of user data," Apple said.

"We are committed to working with the European Commission in an effort to find a solution that will allow us to provide these features to our customers in the European Union without sacrificing their safety," Apple added.
