Google's Head Of Privacy, Keith Enright, Leaves The Company After 13 Years Of Serving

JAKARTA - Google's head of Privacy, Keith Enright, will leave the company this fall after 13 years of working at the tech giant. This was said by a spokesman for Alphabet's company on Tuesday, June 4.

"We regularly develop our legal, regulatory and compliance efforts to fulfill new obligations and expectations. Our latest changes will increase the number of people working on regulatory compliance across companies," the spokesperson said.

Enright was appointed head of Google's privacy in September 2018, when the company faced intense scrutiny from the government over privacy concerns.

according to the company, Enright's departure is part of a broader reorganization in the privacy team, with companies trying to shift privacy policies to various individual product management teams.

"After more than 13 years on Google, I'm ready for a change, and will move this fall, bringing everything I've learned and trying something new," Enright wrote in a post on LinkedIn.

On Google itself currently, there are several security divisions. Several teams are responsible for various aspects of privacy on Google:

Google's Security and Privacy Team: This team is responsible for Google's infrastructure and data security, as well as the development of products and services that are safe and respect user privacy.

Google's Privacy Policy Team: This team is responsible for the development and implementation of Google's privacy policies, as well as ensuring that Google's products and services comply with applicable privacy laws.

Google's Privacy Engineers Team: This team is responsible for implementing technical privacy control in Google products and services, as well as conducting research and development in the field of privacy.

Google's Chief Privacy Officer (CPO) Office: Google's CPO is responsible for Google's overall privacy strategy and reports directly to CEOs. CPO is working with other teams on Google to ensure that privacy is taken into account in all aspects of the company's business.
