JAKARTA - JaWAra Internet Sehat, a digital literacy program initiated by ICT Watch with WhatsApp Indonesia, managed to emerge as Winner (main winner) in the C4 Capacity Building category in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Prizes 2024.

For this victory, the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi congratulated and appreciated Jawara Internet Sehat.

By involving 160 young people from all over Indonesia, JaWAra Internet Sehat encourages digital literacy movements with a local wisdom approach, so that it can be more easily accepted by the public.

Digital literacy is a priority agenda that requires working with all stakeholders. For that I appreciate the highest initiative of ICT Watch through the Healthy Internet Java program. This program has contributed significantly to supporting the increase in digital literacy in Indonesia," said Budi.

He also congratulated ICT Watch, WhatsApp Indonesia and all Jabara Internet Sehat for the award received from the United Nations.

"Hopefully this initiative from Indonesia can inspire the world, and of course it will continue to have a positive impact on the people of Indonesia," he continued.

Minister Budi Arie was present to witness the award handing over which was handed over directly by the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), totaling Bogdan-Martin, to the Executive Director of ICT Watch, Indriotno Banyumurti, as the initiator of the Healthy Internet.

There are 18 categories of programs and initiatives that are competed in WSIS Prizes and each has 1 Winner (main winner) and 4 Champions. This achievement certainly made Indonesia's brilliant achievement in WSIS Prizes.
