JAKARTA Opera, one of the oldest browsers in the world, officially collaborated with Google Cloud on Tuesday, May 28. Through this partnership, Gemini will be integrated into Aria, an assistant browser based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). According to Opera, Gemini is a modern and powerful Large Language Model (LLM). In addition, the AI model developed by Google is friendly to users. With the various advantages Gemini has, Opera is interested in using the AI model. Once Gemini is integrated into Aria, this browser assistant can read out the user's response in conversation mode. Ability similar to the Hard Reading feature in ChatGPT is supported by Google's text-to-audio AI model. EVP Partnership Opera, Per Wetterdal, says that its company has been working with Google for decades. Therefore, to improve services within its artificial browser, Opera decided to use Google's AI. "Our company has been working together for more than 20 years. We are excited to announce the deepening of this collaboration into the generative AI field to further strengthen our browser AI service series," Wetterdal said, quoted from the company blog.

Meanwhile, Eva Fors as the Managing Director of Google Cloud in the Nordic Region said that this partnership will strengthen AI innovations for browsers. What's more, AI will continue to be utilized over the next few years. "We believe the future of AI will be open, so we provide access to Google's infrastructure, AI products, platforms, and basic models for empowering organizations to map their paths with a generating AI," said Fors.
