JAKARTA Gemini, Google's Artificial Intelligence (AI) model, has been added to Google Messages since I/O 2024 was held. However, Gemini has only been operating stably in recent days. To find out if Google Messages on your device is already supported by Gemini, you only need to open the app and tap the Chat Start icon. Supposedly, Gemini is seen at the top of the New Conversations List page. When you tap Gemini's chat, Google Messages will ask users to agree with some requirements. After that, users will see a simple chat room with a RCS message description in the message typing box. Just like any other chat room, users will also see emojis and galleries in the message typing box. While chatting with Gemini, users can also upload any image as a prompt or chat idea. Gemini in Google Messages can be used to compose messages, plan events, or chat like chatbots. Especially on Google Messages, Gemini can provide very short responses according to chat rooms.

Before using Gemini, Google Message users must activate RCS support first. Although this app supports end-to-end encryption, one-on-one conversations with Gemini will not be encrypted. Gemini services cannot be accessed via the Google Messages website so users have to download the app. Gemini support has been launched globally, except in the European Economic Area (EEA), Great Britain, Switzerland, or India.
