JAKARTA After announcing the presence of AI Overview for Google Search at I/O 2024 on May 15, Google said it would add ads to the feature in the near future.

Delivered via the company's blog on Tuesday, May 21, the company explained that the initial testing phase had started and the response received was very positive. Therefore, in the near future, Google will test its features to more users.

It's not explained when the test will begin, but the first country to host testing is the US. Later, Search users in the US will see a sponsorship label at the top or at the bottom of the AI Overview summary.

Although some websites come from advertisers, Google still places its website according to the search results of its users. In other words, the Bersponsor website will be relevant to queries and information in the summary.

"We found that people who use AI certificates actually use Search more and are more satisfied with the results," said Google. "When people click on links from AI Summary, click it has higher quality."
