JAKARTA Spatial audio technology has received a lot of attention lately, both from technology companies and platform management companies. Apparently, Google is also preparing the technology.
Reporting from 9to5google, Google will add spatial audio technology to Chromebooks. By bringing spatial audio support, Chromebook users can get the best audio listening experience with surround effects.
New spatial audio support is found in code form. Like other new features if it is still developed, the spatial audio feature is still locked behind the chrome://flags option. If it's enabled, this feature will be visible inside Settings.
The new code on Chromebook explains that spatial audio is, "The content is supported to make it sound more in-depth." This feature will appear on the Audio page and users will have to enable the tool button to use its features.
Spatial audio support seems to have only been developed in the early stages because it is not yet available on the latest version of ChromeOS Canary. There is not much information from this feature, but it is likely that the way it works is not much different from the one on Android.
