Huawei Digital And Intelligent APAC Congress: Exploration Of Transformation Opportunities In Asia Pacific

JAKARTA - The digital economy in the Asia Pacific region is now entering the golden era. Countries and regions in the region continue to explore smart technology and encourage digital development.

To support digital transformation in the region, Huawei together with the ASEAN Foundation held the Huawei Digital and Intelligent APAC Congress which took place in Bangkok and was attended by more than 2,000 government officials, academics, partners, and analysts from 15 countries and the Asia Pacific region.

During the event, Huawei's Deputy Chairwoman of the Board and CFO, Sabrina Meng, said that Asia Pacific is not only one of the most dynamic areas in the world, but has also been a role model for other regions trying to go digital and develop their digital economy.

We uphold research and innovation. In the future, we will continue to focus on creating added value for partners. We also open up opportunities to collaborate with partners to provide 5.5G technology, clouds, digital energy plants, and other technologies," Meng said.

Huawei believes that digital and intelligent infrastructure, which includes networks, storage, computing, and cloud, is key to maximizing productivity potential in the region.

"With the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) which is expected to be completed by 2025, the business community and people in the ASEAN region will be empowered to take full advantage of the growing potential of digital and technology services, such as AI and the cloud," said Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Community and Corporate Affairs, Nararya S. Soeprapto.

To ensure the realization of a digital future throughout the region, Nararya requested that all governments, the private sector, and all stakeholders need to adopt a coherent approach to increasing digital connectivity, bridging development gaps between ASEAN member countries, developing skills, and encouraging digital transformation.
