WhatsApp Users Can Now Create And Schedule Events In The Community

JAKARTA - WhatsApp introduces a new capability in the Community to make it easier for all its members to plan certain events in the future.

"If you are a member of the WhatsApp Community, now you can make an event in your group and reply to the admin's announcement," Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote on his official channel quoted Thursday, May 2.

With this new capability, now everyone can create events and others can respond so that all group members know the events to come.

The members can also find events on the group's information page, and they will receive automatic notifications as the event gets closer.

This new feature will be first available to groups that are members of the Community and will be launched to all groups in the coming months.

In addition, Meta will also present a reply to the Announcement Group, so that the admin can hear input from its members while making the group an easy place to find out the latest information in the Community.

"The reason will be grouped into one and minimized so you can see what others say according to context, and notifications will be muted for everyone," the company added.

Over the next few months, Meta will continue to roll out new features to Communities and groups so that people have more features to keep their lives organized on WhatsApp.
