JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi stated that he would narrow the space for online gambling players in Indonesia and eradicate the circulation of their sites on the internet.

Because according to Budi, players who are addicted to online gambling have the potential to commit criminal acts, especially most of them are young.

"In online gambling, according to data, most young people, children aged 17 to 20 years, are disturbing, because of online gambling addiction, these children can commit criminal acts, theft, robbery, not yet other social impacts," Budi said in his official broadcast on Thursday, April 25.

For this reason, the Minister of Communication and Information asked for support from the public to continue reporting to the complaint.id if they found an online gambling site that was still active so that access was immediately terminated.

Budi also believes that the eradication of online gambling will be carried out smoothly through synergy and collaboration between ministries and institutions.

In addition, the Indonesian government will also create an Integrated Task Force for the Eradication of Online Gambling consisting of representatives of ministries and institutions, which is planned to be announced this week.
