JAKARTA - The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) of PT Starlink Services Indonesia (Starlink), to increase internet access throughout Indonesia.

Chairman of APJII Muhammad Arif hopes that this cooperation can be carried out through this collaboration and carried out by mutual respect and mutual benefit, without harming local businesses.

"We are very enthusiastic about working with Starlink to increase internet access in Indonesia. However, we want to emphasize that Indonesia is not just a market for Starlink," Arif said in a statement received on Monday, April 22.

According to Arif, by integrating Starlink services with existing infrastructure, the local ISP business can expand its reach and improve the quality of its services.

Meanwhile, Starlink can also take advantage of the network that has been built to reach more users throughout Indonesia.

"In terms of technology, this collaboration will bring various innovations that can change the face of the internet industry in Indonesia," he explained further.

Because, Arif added, Starlink has proven to be able to provide quality internet access in remote areas through low-earth orbit satellite technology, which can provide fast and stable connectivity even in difficult-to-reach areas.

"With this collaboration, APJII hopes to take advantage of this advanced technology to provide better and more reliable internet access for the people of Indonesia," he continued.

Finally, Starlink's presence is expected to expand the reach of quality and affordable internet services in areas that were previously difficult to connect to, thus contributing positively to economic and social development in the area.
