The Bogor Police's BOGOR uses traffic surveillance camera (CCTV) technology as a visual aid to regulate the flow of homecoming on the Peak Line ahead of Eid 2024.

Iptu Ardian Novianto, Head of Traffic Operation Development Affairs (KBO Satlantas) of the Bogor Resort Police, explained that CCTV was used to monitor the situation in general along the Puncak Line. Visual data from CCTV cameras help in identifying vehicle movements and obstacles at traffic-prone points.

"This visual monitoring is a consideration in taking traffic engineering steps such as one-way arrangements, odd-even systems, or open-close systems at vulnerable points," said Ardian to ANTARA at Simpang Gadog, Bogor.

In addition to CCTV, Ardian also refers to traffic counting data carried out by the Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ) of the Ministry of Transportation and the West Java Provincial Transportation Service. This data provides information on how many vehicles pass by hour on the Puncak Line.

"If the number of vehicles exceeds the set threshold, it signifies a high spike in traffic and we need to take anticipatory steps," he added.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi previously projected that as many as 28.4 million people would travel back and forth from Jabodetabek. This shows an increase in public interest in going home compared to the previous year.

As an anticipatory measure, the Ministry of Transportation has collaborated with various relevant ministries/agencies to prepare operations and regulations in the face of a surge in travelers.
