JAKARTA Gemini, Artificial Intelligence(AI) created by Google, got a recent update. In the latest update, Gemini can provide direction by automatically opening Google Maps. Before updating, Gemini can answer several commands such as "Navigate me to (place name)" and "Take me to (place name)". Gemini will respond immediately, but it will only provide travel routes in summary.Gemini will also explain how much time users need to take and how many kilometers the distance will be taken. At the end of the explanation, users will see a directional link. When it opens, users will enter the Google Maps app. Now, the Big Language Model (LLM) works more sophisticatedly. When the user gives the same order, Gemini still gives a summary of user's journey. However, a few seconds later, Maps will be immediately open. Maps will show a route described earlier by Gemini. Users will also see what they usually find in Maps, such as time and distance. With this fast integration, users no longer need to click on links in Gemini's explanation.

In addition to an update in the form of direct integration to Maps, Gemini also gets another update in working on commands to remember events and create calendar entries. These two things can be done using only voice. "Now you can use your voice to set reminders and calendar entries with the Gemini app if your Workspace extension is enabled in your Gemini app settings. The availability of workspace expansion varies across countries," Google explained in the Play Store release note. In addition, Google also updated the voice command usage system. If previously users had to click the Send button, now Gemini would receive voice commands and send them automatically so that orders could be responded immediately.
