JAKARTA - Chris Lehane, former Airbnb policy chief and White House staff member in the era of President Bill Clinton, soon to join OpenAI, the ChatGPT maker. He will be lined up as a senior executive, as reported by The Information on Monday, March 18.

Lehane has been a consultant for OpenAI CEO Sam Altman for more than a year, including taking care of his temporary dismissal in November 2023. The report added that talks to bring him into joining were not final and "it was a mess".

The Microsoft-backed startup announced earlier this month that Sam Altman will return to the OpenAI board with three new directors as investigations surrounding his dismissal have been completed.

Lehane now serves as head of strategy at Haun Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on cryptocurrencies.

Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI earlier this month, accusing the startup of violating its stance agreement to develop artificial intelligence for humanitarian purposes, not for profit.
