Kominfo Kasih Deadline Until The End Of The Month For 4 Online Travel Services List Of PSE

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information has sent warning letters to six foreign online travel agents (OTA) operating in Indonesia, to immediately register as Private Scope Electronic System Operators (PSE).

In the warning letter, the government through the Ministry of Communication and Informatics gave a deadline of five days for these travel service providers to register themselves.

Because if not, like previous cases, if the travel service does not register with the Private Scope PSE in Indonesia, then Kominfo will cut off access or block the service.

The six travel services written by Kominfo are Booking.com, Agoda.com, Airbnb.com, Klook.com, Trivago.co.id, Expedia.co.id. Until now, according to VOI's monitoring on the PSE Kominfo website, only Airbnb and Agoda have registered.

However, the Director General of Information and Public Communication (IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Informatics Usman Kansong said that the four other services had committed to registering themselves immediately. Therefore, Kominfo extended the registration deadline until the end of this month.

"They are all committed to registering, it is only Agoda and Airbnb, but the six are committed. We will give it until the end of this month," Usman told VOI when contacted on Wednesday, March 13.

Usman also added, "If they have good commitment, good intentions, of course we must also open up. Because they are committed to registering, if by the end of this month they have not registered, then we will block them."

However, Usman also said that if one week before the deadline ends, and the travel service provider has not registered, it is possible that Kominfo will try to remind again.

"For example, a week before the end of the month, we try to ask again. This is we are looking for a way out, not punishment. At least we have another reminder. If not, of course we will block it," he concluded.
