JAKARTA Avalanche (AVAX) as a blockchain platform that supports decentralized applications (dApps), announced the launch of the Durango and Teleporter Upgrades on February 24. Durango upgrade is a network update that improves Avalanche's performance and security.

While Teleporter is a tool that allows communication between Avalanche network subnets, which is a chain specifically for certain applications. Teleporters are supported by Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM), a message protocol available on C-Chain, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible Avalanche network.

Durango upgrade is a network update to improve Avalanche's network performance and security, as well as introduce new features, such as:

Teleporter, Communication Equipment Between Subnets

Teleporter is a tool created by Avalanche to ensure unity among Avalanche's network subnets. Subnet is a collection of validators who run the same consensus rules and validate transactions on one or more chains. Subnet allows developers to create applications that are tailored to their needs, such as speed, cost, and privacy.

Teleporters also aim to fix fragmentation problems in the Avalanche ecosystem. Fragmentation is a condition where subnets cannot communicate with each other, thereby reducing network efficiency and interoperability. With Teleporters, subnets can easily share price feed data for tokens and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), thereby increasing liquidity and accessibility of digital assets.

Reporting from CoinSpeller, regarding Teleporter, Vice President of Platform Engineering Ava Labs, Patrick O'Grady, praised the functionality and interface of this tool. O'Grady said:

"With Durango's Upgrade activation at Avalanche Mainnet, it is now possible for Subnet to communicate natively with C-Chain using Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM)... Teleporter packs this new functionality in an interface compatible with EVM that can be used by Solidity developers to trigger arbitrary contract invocacy across Avalanche's subnets."
