Wikipedia Updates Widgets For Android Devices

JAKARTA Wikipedia is an Ethiopian platform that comes in the form of a web and application. App version of Wikipedia is interesting to use because there are widgets for fast access.

This gadget can be added to the main screen. When you want to use it, users only need to click on the search box and type the information they want to search for. Unfortunately, this widget hasn't been updated for a long time and looks very ancient.

However, on Wednesday, March 6, Wikipedia launched a version of 2.7,50475-r-2024-03-06 with a modernized widget. The special update for this Android device offers two types of widgets, namely the Search Wikipedia and Wikipedia Featured Page.

Search Wikipedia now places the logo on the left, the search box in the middle, and the search button on the right. This gadget offers a 4x1 configuration that fills the screen and can be reduced as desired to a 1x1 configuration.

Please note that the best configurations are in 4x1 and 3x1 sizes. If you set the widget with 2x1 configuration, the text inside the search box will be slightly truncated and the 1x1 configuration only shows a compactified logo.

Next, the Wikipedia Featured Page widget will display the title of the article, a short description, and the main image of the article. The size of this widget can be expanded, but Wikipedia will not provide additional information from the article.

These two types of widgets can be displayed in black or white. Users are free to choose the color they want. If this widget update is not yet visible, make sure that the version of the app you are using is the latest version.
