SpaceX And NASA Launch Crew-8 Mission To The Space Station

JAKARTA SpaceX launched the Dragon Endeavor spacecraft on Sunday, March 3. This plane is on its way to the International Space Station (ISS).

Using a Falcon 9 rocket, the Endeavor aircraft took off from the Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center. The aircraft carried three NASA astronauts and one Roscosmos astronaut to carry out the Crew-8 mission.

The four astronauts who took part in this mission were Matthew Dominic, Michael Baratt, Marijuda, and Alexander Grebenkin. The four will stay for six months to work on science missions in the orbital laboratory.

NASA administrator Bill Nelson welcomed the launch of the mission. As a form of commercial partnership between NASA and SpaceX, Nelson said that this mission shows the strength of the science partnership in space.

"On this eighth crew rotation mission, we once again demonstrate the power of our commercial partnership and America'sition that will push us further into space," Nelson said via NASA's blog on Sunday, March 3.

Nelson explained that four Endeavor crew members will work on hundreds of science-related experiments. This is done to encourage scientific research in advanced space for humans.

"On the station, the crew will conduct more than 200 science experiments and technological demonstrations to help drive a new era of space exploration and benefit humanity on Earth," Nelson explained.

Some of the experiments that Crew-8 will work on are studies of brainorganoids for anneurodegenerative understanding, changes in body fluids in space, UV radiation effects, microgravity on plant growth, and much more.
