Photomath Officially Becomes Google's App On The Play Store

JAKARTA Google has acquired Photomath, a mathematical problem-solving app, in May 2022. However, Google only changed its application publisher account on Thursday, February 29.

When searching for an application on the Google Play Store, the name of the developer or app publisher will be included under the name of the application. Over the years, the developer of Photomath is Photomath LLC, but now Google has replaced it.

The name of the publisher of the Photomath application has now changed to Google LLC. The change in the publisher name shows that Photomath is already under Google.

This application is recognized in 2022, but Photomath was officially under Google in March last year. Google must obtain unconditional permission from the European Union Antitrust Regulator (EU) first.

Luckily, Google got unconditional acquisition approval. According to regulators, the deal between Photomath and Google will not reduce competition in the app market offering mathematical teaching tools.

Before being recognized, the number of Photomath downloads was already large. The Google Play Store only displays more than 100 million downloads, but in fact, this application has been downloaded more than 300 million times worldwide.

Currently, the Photomath application is still operating independently. However, it is possible that Google will integrate its Photomath special functions into several services, such as Google Lens and Search, to help with mathematical needs.

The Photomath application can be used for free and paid. The Photomath Plus subscription is priced at 9.99 US dollars per month (Rp157 thousand). This premium version will provide a Textbook Solution and a more in-depth explanation.
