JAKARTA - MediaTek, a chipset manufacturer from Taiwan, will cooperate with Google. Both plan to optimize the generalized Artificial Intelligence (AI) needs on various smartphones.

Through this collaboration, Gemini Nano will be integrated into two chipsets made by MediaTek, namely Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 8300. According to MediaTek, this integration is part of a sustainable investment in developing the AI ecosystem.

Gemini Nano, Google's Big Language Model (LLM), is designed to present Generative AI on devices to smartphones so that they can run effectively and efficiently on MediaTek Dimensity 93,000 and 8300 chipsets," said MediaTek, quoted from the company's blog.

In addition to collaborating in optimizing the presence of Gemini AI, this collaboration will support the use of the NeuraPilot toolkit and Gemini Nano porting to MediaTek's Accelerated Processing Unit (APU) to optimize performance.

"The benefits include smooth performance, better privacy, better security and reliability, lower latency, the ability to work in areas with little or no connectivity, and lower operating costs," said MediaTek.

Lastly, MediaTek and Google plan to launch apps running over Dimensity 9300 and 8300. The app will be created to help developers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in creating applications that support Gemini Nano.

"We emphasize the importance of providing the technology developers and OEMs need to provide the main features of Generative AI, on devices to end users," explained MediaTek.
