JAKARTA Google Wallet, a digital wallet made by Google, has started to replace the role of Google Pay since 2022. However, Google Pay is still operating in several countries to date.

After two years of operation, Google realized Google Wallet was mostly used to store money or transact virtually. Seeing this development, Google decided to delete the Google Pay service.

Google Group Product Manager Pay Joris van Mens said that the Google Pay app will be removed in the United States on June 4. Features on Google Pay will be added to Google Wallet to simplify the application experience.

You can continue to access the most popular features, tapping to pay in stores and managing payment methods, directly from Google Wallet, which is used five times more than Google Pay apps in the US, said Joris some time ago.

Although the application will be deleted, Google Pay can still be accessed through the Google Pay website. However, the website can only be used to view and transfer Google Pay balances to other accounts.

After June 4, users who still save the Google Pay application cannot send, request, or receive money from others. Therefore, users are reminded to immediately move their funds.

Google Pay will only be removed in the United States and will continue to operate in India and Singapore. This application can be removed at any time in India and Singapore because Google is trying to move Google Pay users to Google Wallet for several years.
