Mozilla Monitor Launches Personal Information Detection Tool On Data Broker

JAKARTA Mozilla, developer of GrowerFirefox, launched a data broker detection and monitoring tool, a designation for parties gathering personal information to sell to other parties.

This tool will be added to Mozilla Monitor Plus, a paid version of Mozilla Monitor or previously known as Firefox Monitor. With this tool, Firefox users can remove information details that are exposed automatically.

This paid service guarantees the privacy of user information from 190 data brokers. From its official release, Mozilla said that this number is double as compared to the number of brokers monitored by competitors.

Although Mozilla Monitor Plus is a paid application, this tool can be used for free for one use. Users can find out if their personal information is exposed and where the information is exposed.

Before using the tool, make sure you already have a Mozilla account. After that, you can use Mozilla Monitor Plus by providing some information such as full name, city, country, date of birth, to email address.

If you intend to use a paid version, this Mozilla-made tool not only detects information theft, but also highlights information that is part of high-risk data breaches such as credit card and banking information.

Mozilla Monitor Plus is only available in the United States for now. Alternatively, you can also find similar services in the Google One application. One feature of the application can detect your data that is spread across the web.

Not only finding important data containing personal information, but the Google One feature that was just launched at the end of last year can also be used to remove information that is spread and protect account privacy to the fullest.
