JAKARTA After news of layoffs (PHK) in Google Assistant's division spread, Google announced that it would remove 17teen features in the Google Assistant app.

According to Google Assistant Vice President Adipati Dukellis, the removal of this feature is the right step to focus on product quality and reliability. By removing features that are rarely used, Google will focus on other features.

For now, users can still open and operate these features. All of these features will begin to be deleted in stages on January 26 and after that users will not be able to find the thirteen features.

In Google's Help Center, the company details the features they will remove. Some of the features listed are voice-made audiobook players and controllers on the Google Play Book, setting various alarms, and prescription-related activities.

The next features to be deleted are stopwatch managers on Smart Display, voice calling and broadcasting devices, email senders, video and audio messages using voice, and rescheduling of events on Google Calendar using voice.

Next, Google will remove app launchers in driver mode, requests to meditate quietly, voice controllers for activity for Fitbit Sense and Versa 3, and requests for information regarding personal contacts.

Finally, the feature to be deleted is a feature to view the sleep summary, look at estimated travel times to the office, check personal travel plans, and request various actions with the voice for payment, reservation, and uploads to social media.

Although there are quite a lot of features removed, the function of the application will not change. The app is still working after the pronunciation, Hi, Google. All of these deletions will be applied to the latest version of Google Assistant.
