Dogecoin And Bitcoin Will Be Brought To The Moon, To The Moon In Real Meaning!

JAKARTA The world's largest digital assets and first meme coins, Bitcoin (BTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE) will actually be to the moon in a real sense. Because BTC and physical DOGE coins will be brought to the moon by different rocket companies.

The plan was announced by the leading crypto exchange, BitMEX, which will launch a space mission taking BTC to the moon in 2024. BitMEX is not alone, as the Dogecoin community also has a similar project that will send a dog logo coin, Dogecoin, to the moon.

Previously, BitMEX collaborated with the United Launch Alliance (ULA), a space company owned by Boeing and Lockheed Martin, to realize the space mission "Vulcan Rocket". In addition, BitMEX is also working with Bitcoin Magazine, Astrobotics, and Oxcart Assembly, which are companies engaged in technology, media, and space exploration.

The Rocket Mission is scheduled to launch on January 8, 2024 from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. The rocket will carry a commercial lunar lander Peregrine-1, which will land on the moon after seven weeks in orbit. The entire journey will be broadcast live by NASA.

Peregrine-1 Brings Physical Bitcoin

Interestingly, Peregrine-1 will carry a physical Bitcoin that weighs about 43 grams. This Bitcoin will be left on the lunar surface as a symbol of history. On the Bitcoin, it is engraved a public address and a private key that can be used to send or receive Bitcoin. Thus, anyone on the moon, both humans and other creatures, can interact with the Bitcoin.

BitMEX co-founder Samuel Reed said the mission aims to "encourage the future where cryptocurrencies and space exploration go hand in hand, pave the way to explore unexplored territory and drive the evolution of Bitcoin beyond Earth."

SpaceX Falcon 9 Bring Dogecoin

Meanwhile, Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency inspired by the Shiba Inu dog meme, also has ambitions to send cryptocurrencies to the moon. Dogecoin will send the DOGE-1 satellite developed by Geometric Energy Corporation, a space technology company. The satellite will be launched using the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which is owned by Elon Musk, a loyal supporter of Dogecoin.

The DOGE-1 project was first announced by Musk in 2021, but experienced several obstacles. The project was originally targeted to take off in 2022, but was delayed until 2024.

The DOGE-1 satellite will have a screen that will display the Dogecoin logo and ads on its way to the moon. The project has also received approval from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), the agency that regulates space communications in the US.

With the two space missions involving Bitcoin and Dogecoin, the industry is increasingly showing its innovation and creativity. Bitcoin and Dogecoin will be the first two cryptocurrencies to land on the moon, and may be followed by other cryptocurrencies in the future.
