This means that Tesla Energy users will be able to manage and monitor the status of electricity in their homes through SmartThings Energy and Samsung devices in addition to the Tesla app.

In addition, this integration will also allow SmartThings Energy to display information related to user production, storage, and energy usage.

"This new collaboration is an important milestone for Samsung Electronics in making our solution more widely available outside of household appliances," Chanwoo Park, EVP and Head of the IoT Development Team at the Device Platform at Samsung Electronics said in his official blog, quoted Saturday, January 6.

Park said that users will get notifications via SmartThings on TV or Samsung phones that are connected, when there are disturbances and blackouts when extreme weather events occur such as hurricanes or heavy snowfall.

This collaboration is part of its ongoing efforts to achieve great progress in the Net Zero Home project and improve the experience of multi-device SmartThings users.

Meanwhile, Tesla's Drew Baglino expressed his enthusiasm for expanding the ability of their products to interact with other intelligent software in customer homes.

"We are pleased that Samsung has chosen to become an early developer, given its leading position in consumer smart home technology," said Drew Baglino.

This service is said to be still in the development stage, and is planned to be launched in the second quarter of 2024.
