JAKARTA - Samsung has announced the latest gaming monitor trio before CES 2024. There is a 49-inch OLED G9 (G95SD) Odyssey with an ultra-wide arch design, the 32-inch OLED G8 (G80SD) Odyssey with a flat design, and the 27-inch OLED G6 (G60SD) Odyssey also with a flat design.

The last two are the first flat monitors Samsung brings into its Odyssey line. According to The Verge, Odyssey OLED G6 is the most interesting model based on specifications. This is due to the rate of image update (refresh rate) which reached 360Hz, which is combined with a resolution of 1440p and an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Samsung Display announced the start of mass production of this superfast OLED panel last month, and companies like Dell and MSI also appear to be using it on their latest monitors.

Next in the line is the OLED G8 Odyssey, a 32-inch flat monitor with a 4K resolution, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Then, there is the OLED G9 Odyssey, which measures 49 inches, curves, has a 240Hz refresh rate, and aspects ratio of shot9 with a resolution of 5.120 x 1,440. There is no option of 1440p at a size of 32 inches, as previously offered by Samsung with the G7 Odyssey.

These two high-end monitors will be equipped with Samsung's various smart features, including the built-in Smart TV platform to access video streaming services, Gaming Hub with access to cloud gaming services, and SmartThings hubs to control compatible IoT devices.

There is also the "Multi Control" feature, which Samsung claims can allow monitors to transfer text and images between compatible Samsung laptops, tablets, and phones.

These three monitors have VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification for peak brightness of at least 400 nits, and support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Each is equipped with two HDMI ports 2.1, one DisplayPort port 1.4, and has a built-in USB hub.

The exact price and release date still has to be confirmed, but it is hoped that it will be available for purchase by the end of this year based on Samsung's previous monitor release schedule.
