The fines imposed by Russian courts on Google and YouTube, Meta, TikTok, and Telegram appear to have been finalized as they are no longer listed as debtors in the state bailiff officer database.
However, the database accessed by Reuters on Wednesday January 3 still lists X (previously Twitter) and Twitch, with a total fine of 51 million rubles (IDR 8.7 billion) and 23 million rubles (IDR 3.9), respectively.
Russia has clashed with foreign technology companies over content it deems unlawful and a failure to store user data locally, in an increasingly heated dispute after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
