JAKARTA - TikTok announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership with PT Goto Gojek Tokopedia. This announcement was officially shared on Monday, December 11.
From its official release, TikTok stated that they would invest 1.5 billion US dollars or around IDR 23 trillion. With this collaboration, the Tokopedia and TikTok Shop businesses will operate under the control of PT Tokopedia.
TikTok said that they want to strengthen the growth of the digital economy in Indonesia and expand the market for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Apart from benefiting MSME players, this collaboration is expected to benefit GoTo.
"This (collaboration) will bring benefits to GoTo, which will remain an ecosystem partner for Tokopedia, including reaching a wider market with digital financial services through GoTo Financial and on-demand services from Gojek," wrote TikTok in an official release.
